I'm a ceramic artist living in Starkville, MS. I was drawn to clay pretty quickly after my first in depth encounter with it at Mississippi State University in 2013. I find the material, and all the accompanying processes, quite humbling and infinitely intriguing. It's constantly challenging me and requiring me to gather new information. I enjoy the small, sometimes meticulous details that can go into a finished piece. Texture also plays a large role in most of my work. I often try to find discarded items, things from thrift stores, or nature to experiment with on my surfaces. In my functional work, I aim to create pieces that will be not only lovely to look at, but also interesting to hold and feel in the user's hand.
